I've met so many ladies in my life, who came to me after a church service and then asked me to pray for their future husbands. Please don't get me wrong, I really LOVE praying for ladies and especially praying for a Godly husband. Marriage is something that (almost) all girls have ever dreamt of. Since we were little, we imagined how our wedding would be like, how our husband would treat us and how beautiful our marriage will be. Well, at least, I did that :p Marriage is something that most women desire and ask from God. But, there's one thing that really bothers my mind. Sometimes, we desire marriage more than JESUS, Himself. Listen to me carefully, I really love everything about marriage. I love the purpose and the meaning of marriage (Read: Ephesians 5). I love talking about marriage. However, my prayer and desire is that we would pursue Jesus more than anything else. I'm not that kind of extremist who is against girls that like to talk about marriage and like to ask people to pray for them to be married. Haha no! Sure, it's okay to talk about marriage and how you really want it. However, I guess, when we talk about marriage more than we talk about Jesus, there's something wrong about us. We should desire Jesus more than anything. Jesus should be the biggest desire in our hearts. Jesus should be more than enough. There's a sentence that I always say to people "If we don't feel content with only Jesus, we won't feel content with anything else". The point is, do not desire marriage just because you feel that your life will truly be complete when you're finally married to somebody. I feel like writing this because to be honest, sometimes I can be like that. I can talk about marriage more than the CREATOR and the FOUNDER of marriage itself, which is God. And, I can also be reading books about marriages more than The Book about Him (Read: the bible). Girls, God loves to write romantic stories for us.. but, until we give the pen to Him, we're just gonna be holding on to our own 'dreams' & 'imaginations'. He wants us to make Him the center of our dreams & imaginations and He wants us to be content with His love. These past few days, I've been re-focusing my mind to God. Is He really enough? Or you need Him + somebody else? Girls, God will bring you the right one in the right time. Believe in Him. Believe in His timing. Stop worrying and do not fear. Most importantly, seek Him more than anything else. God is not a stand-in. Let Jesus be the center of our lives in every moment. For when we have Jesus, we have all that we need.

God-Written Love Story

I really feel the need to share this with you all, especially young girls.. (I always start my blog by saying that I need to share this, because I only write what I feel like I “need” to share, not only what I “want” to share..)

In this era, where boyfriend/girlfriend relationship has become something that is very common, I feel like the essence of finding the right one from God has lost its importance for some people. As long as you like the guy, that’s enough. It really saddens my heart.. We can’t build a relationship just based on feelings. I am not here to judge, once again, I am here to help.
I have met so many couples along my journey. Some of them are Godly couples, some of them are just “Christian” couples. I am writing this with a heavy heart, but couples who started off with only feelings, ended up with a really bad damage. Some Christian couples who I know dearly, ended up having sex before marriage and getting pregnant. I know that God can turn our mistakes into miracles. But, God never desires us to make mistakes intentionally.. It hurts Him and causes Him a great sorrow when we do that.
Feeling is deceitful. That is why, it is hard for us to listen to The Lord when we are driven by our feelings. I’m not saying that God will point out to you the one person that you’re gonna marry (this happens to some people though!) What I’m trying to say is, God will give you guidance and wisdom on who to marry (the characteristics/the qualities), when to start a relationship and how to build a God-written love story. We do this not only because we want to have a wonderful relationship. But, we do this because we love The Lord.
Even relationships that initiated by God can be damaged if we let our feelings take control along the way.. The decision to guard our heart and mind is the decision that we have to make and we need God's help to do that each day. I’ve been in a relationship, a God-initiated relationship, because if it wasn’t God, that relationship won’t even be possible to happen. However, there’s a “but” here.. But, I let my feelings get in the way. Thank God! Only by His grace, we didn’t commit into any sexual sins & we had never even kissed. But, it caused a damage to my heart (although it's not his fault! he's a wonderful man of God). When my partner at that time felt that God called him to go to another place and we should call off our relationship, I found myself trembling down. I cried for days/months. I know break-ups are always hard. But I also do believe that when it happens, it doesn’t have to be that bad. Especially, when we put Jesus at the center of our relationships.   
I’m sharing all of this so that you know that I know how it feels.. Relationships should not always end up badly. Even, if they don’t work out.
I’ve met some couples who didn’t end up with each other but still remain friends because they were not only driven by their feelings when they were still in a relationship. I believe that this is God’s desire for us.. He wants to be the center of our relationships. He wants to be the One who brings two people together. Not our feelings, not our mutual love for each other but our mutual love for Christ.
I wish men and women of God would know this in their hearts. Not only God wants to be involved, He wants to be in control. When our relationships bring us closer to God, it will bring us closer to each other (in a healthy, heavenly way). Be patient, wait upon The Lord..
Do not let your feelings get in the way.. I’m not saying that when you get into a relationship, you have to be cold and emotionless, but remember that you have to guard your feelings.. Ask God for wisdom. Ask God to check your heart daily. Are you in this relationship just because of your feelings? Or Are you in this relationship because you know in your heart that God wants to use you and your partner for His glory, for doing something big in His Kingdom together? I have so much to say about this..  I am gonna share more in  my upcoming blogs! Girls, I love you and we’re on this journey together <3

Be Careful!

Well, the title might sound scary but this is what I want to share with you all...

I think we must be (really) careful with what we watch, what we see, what we hear and even what we  read. Lately I feel that the songs that are playing on the radio emphasize on sex, (earthly) love and things like that. I'm not saying that we should turn off ourselves from the outside world. It's impossible to do that. But, I'm trying to say BE CAREFUL. We must be intentional with what we watch and listen to. The other day I had the intention to watch The Big Bang Theory because I needed some good laughs. But apparently, there was a scene that led to sexual things. It caught me off my guard! I am writing this to you because I know that having a clean and holy thought is not something that happens to us naturally. Sometimes we must CHOOSE the things that we want to think of. This is impossible to do by ourselves. We need God's grace to do this. I can tell you that there are so many people out there struggling with unholy thoughts yet they do not know where to go for help. Beside that, they feel too shameful to ask for a help. It's never too shameful to talk about this stuff. What shameful is when we deny this thing and keep doing the same sin.. Friends, you are not in this journey alone. I believe that men and women in the Bible also struggled with sexual thoughts. Remember David? He wasn't careful enough. He accidentally saw Bathsheba bathing and instead of turning around, he lusted after her. In this era, there are so many things that can arouse us: songs on the radio, scenes from a TV show even TV ads! I know this might sound extreme, but before you feel like you need to, stop watching Hollywood (or related) movies/listening to secular music from now. Don't get me wrong, I'm a singer/songwriter and I listen to all kinds of music including secular music. But, I just feel like secular music nowadays emphasize more on 'sexual thing'. I.e: Versace on The Floor by Bruno Mars, Starving by Hailee Steinfeld, Closer by The Chainsmokers, and many more. I actually do not like to differentiate secular and non-secular music. For me, music is music. However, the lyric that goes with the music has such a big substantial impact on the listeners. The same thing goes to movies, it's hard to find "clean" secular movies nowadays! Even if they don't have sexual scenes, there might be a sexual joke. This blog is not written to discourage you. Instead, it's written to encourage you to be careful. There's nothing wrong with being careful. There's nothing wrong with being cautious with what you hear or see. Even the apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:8  "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things". How can we think about such things if we do not watch/listen to such things? I hope you got my point. It's okay to be careful. Do not think that you're weird. I once unfollowed some Hollywood couples on my Instagram because I wanted to be careful with my mind. Purity goes beyond skin deep. It's also about guarding your heart & thought. I can say to you that although I've never ever been kissed, there were times that I didn't keep my mind & heart pure. Guys & girls, I feel you.. Sometimes we wonder if our future  husband/wife is worth waiting for or not? We even wonder if we would ever get married or not.. but remember, this is more than just about marriage, this is about loving and glorifying God with our body. Even when we have never had sex but when we masturbate, that's also a sin. This is the thing that sounds taboo to many people, but, I want to talk about all of this because I don't want us to be deceived by the devil. I want to say that it's okay to talk about this stuff.. I'm not here to judge you but I'm here to help you. I'm here to help you differentiate which one is right and which one is not. Sometimes the devil put lies inside us by saying that "it's okay to do that sin, it's not even a sin". On the opposite, he says "it's not okay to ask for help to someone". So silly right?! the devil likes to turn the truth upside down. There is no grey area. A sin is a sin. However, God's grace and love is bigger than our sin. I want to show that kind of love and grace. If you have failed, God's grace is there to pick you up. I do believe that God's grace is free but it doesn't mean that God's grace is cheap. It was given through the blood of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Friends, I can keep on writing about this.. I can keep on going on why we have to be careful. The devil is always at work. He will always puts lies inside of us. But one thing we can do, we can be careful. If you know that you can (I use "can" not "are", which means it applies to everyone of us)  be distracted by unholy thoughts then be careful with what you watch and listen to. Listen to songs that will lift you up: Bethel music, Hillsong, Planetshakers (I'm just naming a few of my favorite worshippers). For movies: to be honest, it's hard to find a clean and good movie so maybe you can find enjoyment by reading Children books (I love children books like The Diary of A Wimpy Kid, Calvin & Hobbes, etc). We can do all things through Christ, that's including being careful! :)

Lie VS Truth

Hey people! I just really feel like sharing this with you all. So many times we believe in the lies that the devil whispers into our ears. If you read my previous blogs, you will discover that my heart is truly for all the girls out there who are struggling for acceptance. With that being said, these following sentences that I'm going to write would be more related to the girls (but boys, you are welcomed here!)

The Lie: I am not pretty/she's prettier than me.
The Truth: You are pretty in your own way! Quit comparing yourself with others. For you are fearfully & wonderfully made, His works are wonderful and you are one of His works! (Psalm 139:14)

The Lie: I am an accident.
The Truth: You are NOT an accident! God has a PURPOSE for you! Before He formed you in your mother's womb, He knew the plans for you. Before you were born, you were set apart. (Jeremiah 1:5)

The Lie: I have no future.
The Truth: You have a FUTURE! In fact, God says "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope". Surely, there is hope!

The Lie: I need a man to feel loved.
The Truth: YOU are LOVED! This is a very important thing that you have to remember. You are precious and honored in God's sight and HE LOVES YOU (Isaiah 43:4) He really really does and isn't His love MORE than ENOUGH?

I can write down a thousand lies that I used to hear from people around me and also from the enemy. "You are not smart enough", "You are not good enough", "You don't have what it takes" and so on.. Believe it or not, although I already translated for many speakers in big events, sometimes I still hear the voice inside my head saying that I can't speak English and I am not capable in writing nor speaking in English (As a matter of fact, I am writing this in English)! Such a silly lie, isn't it? But sometimes what is sillier is that I buy that lie. Guys, I know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the power of this dark world and against our own human mind! Stop listening to those lies in your mind! I really encourage you to go back to Word of God everytime you struggle with insecurity and acceptance. I am far from perfect and I know that we are in this journey together. So, let's fight the good fight! Of course, with not our own strength but with the strength from God.
